I am still battling with M.E and had a very patchy May/June. I didn't stop studying I just couldn't stay awake long enough to get the assignment re-submitted. I kept studying as it helped take my mind off feeling ill, as you know I got 97% after resubmitting the TMA. I was really proud of myself for persevering and getting the grade I wanted! About 3 months after I started my course my disabled grandson, who is 5 came to live with me, which meant giving up my job with the local council and starting as a taxi driver. Despite all of the upheaval I'm quite proud of the fact that I've managed to keep up my progress on the course. When I first started this course, I thought that I was looking at a long way to reach the top. Only last week, I applied for a work position with Microsoft and wrote a covering letter to them explaining that I was currently studying for MCSA. They called me in for an interview and talked to me about the position they required. They were pleased with the interview and so called me back for a second time. When I went for my second interview, they mentioned to me that they wanted me to work in a general admin office position, which I was pleased with, and happily requested that I complete my course so they could move my position to a computing administrator for the company. I am extremely pleased with the outcome, and I know without skillstrain, I May never have been able to even get this far. Today I am so glad that I dialled that number that got me here, thanks skillstrain! Very good teaching. Tutor phoned beforehand to make sure my log on was ok. very impressed by that, shows they do actually care. Full marks to the tutors. Very interesting to actually feel that the students are supported 100%. I was very satisfied and had a better understanding. Thank you for your support. I am very confident with the Live Internet Training. I know I am not alone, you are there for me, and thank you. To be honest, I left school many years ago and decided to take these studies, it has not been an easy task but I had to do it and I cultivated the drive will and here I am today I HAVE DONE IT! Believe me anyone CAN DO IT, all you need is FOCUS, DETERMINATION and HARD WORK and these will take you through. I have just written the Comptia A+ Examinations and PASSED. Thanks to You All who make this Programme successful. When I first applied for the course I did not quite understand how much time was involved, in the process of completing this course I also work a full time job and have a little girl and a partner to find time for. I already new a bit about computers but did not realise how much information you can forget over years. The best achievement I have made so far is completing the sections on my own, having had learning difficulties at school I was amazed to be able to sit and study on my own and achieve the grades I have. Back in January I received some bad news from work, my employers were proposing that the depot I worked at would be closing. We entered a 90 day consultation period after that time my job would be made redundant. I was also on the waiting list for a hernia operation, things didn't look good. Since I left school I have worked in various jobs mostly on building sites hodd carrying and roofing which in the end resulted in severe back problems (sciatica), the last time I was laid off I decided I was never going back, so I started the IT course (A+,N+,CCNA) which I am doing at the moment, for someone of my age to dramatically change course has been difficult to say the least because after working in that environment for so long I'm always doubting if I can do anything else, I have now got a 12 week old daughter so finding study time has been difficult, but I have just passed the A+ exams(something I thought I would never do) which has given me new confidence,I have also diagnosed and fixed two of my wife's work colleagues PC's which made me feel great because it proved I was learning something, I know the hardest parts in the course are still to come but I now believe I can achieve them and can't wait to get to grips with them, these May seem like menial achievements to most but to me I'm halfway up everest this is something I never thought I would or could do, its never too late!. I have always been interested in a career in IT but after receiving a U in my GSCE's I lost confidence and thought I wouldn't ever have the opportunity to follow my ambitions in doing this type of work. Since doing this course it has taught me not to give up and that there are always opportunities available for everyone as long as you believe in yourself there is no limit as to what you can achieve. Friends and Family have already called me a' computer superhero' for fixing their computers! First of all I think it is hard to talk and to write about myself but the big change that happened in my life by starting this course encouraged me to do so. I came to live in the UK 3 years ago, my English still needs improving, but I work very hard to learn English and to look after my family and study my course material. I've only just started my computer training last month, you see I did not have much hope this time last year, but thanks to Skills Train I now have. Firstly, I would like to thank the tutor team for a fantastic job they are doing. I really cannot believe those who criticise Skills Train because I have been studying with you since 2004 and I am very satisfied with everything especially the response by a tutor team if you are facing hardships with certain things with regards to your course work.
